<p>Featured poets : Leo Racicot and Brandi MacDonald</p>
<p>Leo Racicot will read from his newly published collection, &#8220;Alone in the Yard &#8211; Buddhist, Beat &amp; Otherwise&#8221; published by Big Table Publishing Company.</p>
<p>And&#8230;Brandi MacDonald will be our second featured reader. A 2008 NH Slam Team Finalist, Brandi MacDonald was a contributing poet for &#8220;Just Like A Girl: A Manifesta!&#8221; and misses her literary journal, Seldom Nocturne, which she ran from 2002 until 2005. Her most recent collection, Coloring Book, offers a tiny little peek into her windows.</p>
<p>Following the reading, there will be an open mic. All welcome to participate. Bring a poem. Bring a friend.</p>
<p>$3.00 admission includes light food fare.</p>

<p>The University of Massachusetts Lowell Literary Society, the Gender Studies Program, and the Department of English will welcome  American Book Award-winning poet <strong>Jericho Brown</strong>  on Tuesday, March 23 at 3:30  in O&#8217;Leary Media Center, room 222.  The afternoon program will include a brief  student reading, followed by a reading and book-signing by Brown. Jericho  Brown&#8217;s work addresses complex issues of African-American male identity and  sexuality, and he is fast emerging as one of the nation&#8217;s most important  poets. The public is welcome.  </p>

<p>April 3 from 2 pm till 8 pm</p>
<p>119 Gallery, 119 Chelmsford Street, Lowell</p>
<p>Return to the Beat heyday with readings and jazz. Come read your own poetry or read the work of your favorite Beat poet with or without musical accompaniment.  </p>
<p>Steve Dalachinsky, NY Lower Eastside poet and Yuko Otomo, poet and visual artist are on the line-up along with Apocalypso Trio and the John Voight Group.</p>
<p>Ticket price includes hot/cold buffet and beverage (beer/wine). Advance ticket purchase price = $12.  Tickets at the door = $15.  Student ticket (with ID) in advance $8.00 or at the door $10.00</p>
